Unbelievable 3rd Grade Talent Show
May 11, 2023
Our youngest daughter Kylie Sang the Star-Spangled Banner in 1st grade so incredibly, not even knowing all the words. People noticed how naturally talented she was and asked us if she had a singing coach?
We said no at the time.
She’s only 6yrs old.
From that point on, if the school had technical difficulties with their music for the national anthem, the principal would ask Kylie to lead them in singing the star spangled banner.
Later on ,I showed the video of her singing that song to a friend of mine and he referred me to a person that could possibly coach her.
So we met the coach and she told us that she doesn’t normally coach somebody under 13 years of age. Then we showed her the video….
Her response was “OK I’ll coach her. I see a diamond in the rough.”
We were so excited!
Fast forward 3 yrs and our daughter was ready for a performance like no other for her at the time.
She was to sing a song that means merciful lord in Italian.
Keep in mind, she doesn’t speak Italian.
Oh how nervous I thought she was. Turned out she was as comfortable as a sound sleep in a soft bed.

The title of the song is…

Pie Jesu.

Here are the lyrics translated to English….

Have mercy on Jesus, have mercy on Jesus, have mercy on Jesus, have mercy on Jesus

Who takes away the sins of the world

Give them rest, give them rest

Have mercy on Jesus, have mercy on Jesus, have mercy on Jesus, have mercy on Jesus

Who takes away the sins of the world

Give them rest, give them rest

Lamb of God, Lamb of God, Lamb of God, Lamb of God

Who takes away the sins of the world

Give them rest, give them rest

Grant them eternal rest

Forever

Grant them eternal rest

Forever

Rest

Forever

It was an amazing performance and the crowd went wild.

At the end it was a standing ovation.

People were coming up to our daughter with tears in their eyes, saying” you have such a beautiful voice, you brought joyful tears to my eyes.

Others were just saying how wonderful she was.

More importantly,

She was so humble, looking down and saying thank you in that 9 yr old voice. It was enough to make your heart melt.

This was such a great memory for all of us and there’s so many more…
