Paints

Canvas

For beginners, we recommend starting with a pre-stretched canvas. This type of canvas is already stretched tight on a wooden frame, so you don’t have to worry about doing it yourself. Just make sure to buy the right size for your easel or work surface.

If you’re looking for a more professional-grade canvas, then we recommend an artist-grade linen or cotton canvas. These canvases are much higher quality than pre-stretched canvases, and they’ll last longer too. Just be prepared to stretch them yourself – it’s not difficult, but it is an extra step in the process.

No matter what type of canvas you choose, make sure it’s primed and ready to go before you start painting. A primed canvas provides the perfect surface for your paint to adhere to, and it also helps prevent your colors from bleeding through. We recommend using gesso primer for best results.

Sketchbook

If you want to get serious about making art, one of the first things you’ll need is a sketchbook. A sketchbook is a book where you can draw, paint, and write down your thoughts and ideas. It’s a great place to experiment with new techniques and styles, and to document your creative process.

Drawing pencils
